Surah 95
The Fig
Al-Tin 🫒
This surah asserts that while humans were created in the finest possible mold, they can fall to the lowest depths if they abandon faith and good deeds. The title is taken from the opening verse, which swears an oath by the fig and the olive, referencing blessed historical regions of prophecy.
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
1By the fig, by the olive,
2By Mount Sinai,
3By this safe town,
4We create man in the finest state
5Then reduce him to the lowest of the low,
6Except those who believe and do good deeds — they will have an unfailing reward.
7After this, what makes you [man] deny the Judgement?
8Is God not the most decisive of judges?
